Employees, owners, and patrons must adhere to the Class III Gaming Act. In addition, the state ensures that operators adhere to revenue-sharing and regulation agreements by contributing to a general fund. Casinos are expected to maintain transparency with the authorities and have measures in place to promote and guarantee responsible gambling.

Slot Machines

Individuals may own slot machines on private premises if they meet several requirements. First, they must purchase the slot machine from a licensed manufacturer or outlet within the state.

Persons owning slot machines within their homes cannot use the slots for commercial gambling. That is, they cannot resell or rent out the machines. Allowing players to play and taking tokens in return is an offense punishable as a fourth-degree felony.

Only licensed distributors and manufacturers can transport slot machines. Therefore, individuals cannot move their owned slot machines without assistance from a licensed distributor or manufacturer.

Internet Gambling

All forms of internet gambling are illegal. Slot machines, blackjack, bingo, and lotteries conducted remotely are sanctioned and punishable under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Sports Betting
