Evolution Goes Live in Delaware

On Tuesday, July 17th, 2024, Delaware officially became the sixth US state to offer live dealer games by the industry powerhouse Evolution. Delaware joins New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and West Virginia, thus cementing Evolution’s bid to be a market leader in the industry.

The live casino games from Evolution, such as the uber-popular poker variants like Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, can now be played from all three Delaware online casinos: Delaware Park Casino, Harrington Casino, and Bally Dover. The first two are accessible through the BetRivers app, while Bally Dover, the smallest of the three, has its own dedicated app.

Months in the Making

The takeover was announced three months earlier. Evolution made a major deal with Rush Street Interactive, the Delaware Lottery, and the state’s three legal online casinos. The deal also brought slots from Evolution, NetEnt, Red Tiger, and Big Time Gaming to Delaware’s casinos.

The two sides exchanged pleasantries after the March announcement. Jacob Claesson, Evolution’s CEO for North America, expressed excitement. He said, “Partnering with Rush Street Interactive is a great opportunity to bring online games to BetRivers players in Delaware.”

Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive, responded. “We’re excited to partner with Evolution as we expand our slot offerings and provide unmatched entertainment.”

Many players were confused by the lack of Evolution live dealer games, as the provider is known for them. They had to wait four months before Evolution’s live games were available. Now, players in Delaware can enjoy live roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and craps. This in addition to popular slots like Fruit Shop, Gonzo’s Quest, Bloodsuckers, and Dead or Alive.

The Big Picture

This move by Evolution is part of a larger trend. Only last June, BetMGM ganged up with Playtech to offer live dealer games from its Las Vegas premises. More than that, the duo is set to project their live dealer endeavours beyond the US, streaming from the Bellagio and MGM Grand and into the international market.

With six states now under its belt, Evolution is missing only Rhode Island to complete all seven markets where online gambling is legal. Only two software providers have entered every legal market: White Hat Studios and IGT.

As for Delaware, the state is widely cherished for being one of the early adopters of online casino gaming. However, it was only after Rush Street Interactive took over from 888 that the industry profits started skyrocketing. In the first month of BetRivers, the net revenue tripled in size and has never looked back since. No doubt that Evolution entering the First State will only bolster the revenues further.
